Departure

The three men featured in this book were all about to graduate and depart on their own journeys. This piece marked what may be the last group of male dancers the company would have. This dance was created as an exploration of life without the basic human senses.

These images serve as a visual representation of the loss of senses, an acknowledgement of the departure of these dancers, and a farewell to the company.

Perspectives on Your Childhood

As children, we are information sponges. We absorb everything we can. As adults, we are critics. We look at everything and have an opinion, a thought, a retort. I selected images from picture books that showed different races in both positive and negative lights. These were compiled into a large-scale book for adults to momentarily return to their childhoods but with the critical eye and mind they have now developed, look at the images and reconsider the books we expose our children to each day.

Homage:
Martin Creed Work No. 7979

24mmx24mm glass microscope slides stacked and glued. The 60 middle slides are painted to represent the blu-tack. As the slides are stacked, the shapes of paint shifts so that the sense of depth is both illusory from the paint hues and actual from the layering of slides.

Suspension

Re-envisioning of normal, everyday objects. Isolated the "zips" of zip-top bags to create a framework for suspension of hot glue strands. The inner orb is also suspended within the outer orb via hot glue stretched and manipulated until cooled and hardened.

Narcissism

In reflection of the iconic photograph of the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, United States President Barack Obama, and Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt, this piece addresses the question of giving - giving presence, memory, or self-reflection?
